INTRO THE PROS

The Small Shop with a Big Mission

Alignment Professionals is owned and operated by Knoxville locals, Derrill & Pat Haney. After training for more than 15 yrs. at the oldest alignment shop in Knoxville and earning his ASE Certification, Derrill established Alignment Professionals in 1995 and later relocated to our current home at 2019 North Central Street in 2001 in order to better serve his growing customer base.

Our shop is located adjacent to the Lincoln-Park community, slightly north of the historical "Happy Holler." We are privileged to be part of Knoxville's downtown revitalization, along with neighboring locally owned eateries, Wild Love Bakehouse, Steamboat Sandwiches, Pizzeria  Nora, as well as eclectic community of small shops such as Mid Mod Collective, Finders Keepers and Raven Records & Rarities to explore.  Central Street provides and opportunity to step back in time while supporting small businesses.  Alignment Professionals provides the perfect blend of good ole' fashioned customer service and technical versatility offering both traditional old-school, BeeLine® method as well as the latest, Hunter Hawkeye Elite® computerized equipment.

Today, Derrill and Pat are joined by a top-notch staff including the friendliest Customer Service Specialist in Knoxville and a highly-qualified team of ASE Certified Technicians whose genuine desire to help makes the typical dreaded auto repair service, the most stress-free and pleasant you've ever experienced.

It won't take long to see that Alignment Pros is "different" than the "others" when you experience the unique one-on-one, first-name basis introduction to the owners as well as the specific technician who will be conducting the hands-on inspection of your vehicle. Our techs are happy to thoroughly explain their diagnosis and physically involve you in a detailed "show-and-tell" during our inspection, if you're inclined. After all, "Seeing is believing." Years of utilizing this methodology has solidified the trust and confidence between our customers and techs and as a result we are privileged to serve multi-generations of the same family.

We believe "education is priceless" for both our customers and technicians, which is reflected by our credentials including our elite ASE Blue Seal status indicating at least 75% of the shops technicians are certified by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence, assuring the highest level of competence and professionalism in the industry. Also, we are proud of our acclaimed A+ Better Business Bureau accreditation, including 15 consecutive years of "Complaint-Free" recognition and over 200 satisfied customers' five star reviews.

"Get to know the pros" and you will find that over 25 years in business and over 75 years of combined experience has proven we are a "Small Shop with a Big Mission."

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord you are serving."

ALIGNMENT/SUSPENSION INSPECTION:  $52.50+**

Have you purchased new tires recently?  (Best time EVER for alignment check.)  Hit a pothole, speed bump or curb accidentally? Steering wheel off-center? Unusual or excessive tire wear?  Hearing noises you just can't trace down? Just doesn't drive like it used to? You may benefit by having your suspension inspected. Let our experienced technicians test drive and conduct a thorough suspension examination (tie rods, ball joints, bearings, bushings, cv axles, shock/struts) of your vehicle to accurately diagnose any defective parts that require replacement before an alignment can be properly completed. An accurate diagnosis can save you hundreds of dollars by avoiding misdiagnosed parts replacement, tire wear and/or potential safety problems.

(3) CUSTOMER DECLINES  RECOMMENDED ALIGNMENT DURING INSPECTION.

** NOTE:  INSPECTION FEE N/A IF ALIGNMENT OR PARTS REPAIRS ARE PERFORMED DURING ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT.  PARTIAL NSPECTION  FEE MAY BE APPLIED TOWARD ESTIMATE IF  CUSTOMER AUTHORIZES ESTIMATED REPAIRS TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN 30 DAYS. INSPECTION FEE NOT APPLICABLE TOWARD ALIGNMENT ONLY.

We are the suspension problem solvers!

NEED AN APPOINTMENT? We realize your time is valuable, which is why we work primarily by appointment (Monday thru Friday,  8 am - 4 pm), ensuring a minimal wait time. Most alignments require approximately an hour or less and we assure you we will do everything possible to make your wait comfortable and brief. Suspension, brake repairs and diagnostic trouble shooting require more time.  If you prefer, you can drop off your vehicle before or after hours using our secure key drop and we will promptly call or text when your service is completed.

HAVE A QUESTION? Feel free to check out our Frequently Asked Questions page or give us a call. We will be glad to answer any alignment, brake, suspension or frame questions you have. If we can't help you, we will try our best to refer you to a reputable, competent shop who can service your needs. It pays to have a network of automotive service providers you can trust.

NEED AN ESTIMATE? We highly discourage phone estimates due to the potential for misleading or inaccurate quotes/diagnosis. To avoid the guess work that comes along with a "ballpark" estimate, we will provide a thorough brake and/or suspension inspection including a test drive in order to recreate the exact cause of symptoms and  personally consult with the customer in order to ensure they clearly understands the cause, affect, consequences, importance  and priority of recommended repairs enabling you to confidently make an educated decision with absolutely no pressure.   This inspection averages one hour depending the extent of customer's issues or concerns, including problem solving noises and symptoms that are of concern to the customer and will result in a detailed written diagnosis and exact description and repair estimate to facilitate immediate authorization of work or budgeting for the future repair. We will gladly refund the inspection/diagnostic fee if the service is completed (per estimate) within 30 days. Also, many DIYers opt to utilize our economic inspection fee for the purpose of getting a professional diagnosis which allows them to accurately identify the problem so they may complete the parts repair themselves. In which case, the inspection fee becomes the diagnostic fee and is not credited toward an alignment only.

THE PROS REVIEWS

This is the best place I have ever been for brake and alignment issues. At another business I was told that I needed new front and rear brakes. I came to Alignment Professionals for a second opinion. After a few minutes I was advised that I did NOT need new brakes as my brakes were only 40% worn. I couldn't believe it! These very fair, kind, honest and trustworthy professionals won my respect, admiration and recommendation immediately. I was even invited into the shop to visually inspect my brakes. The mechanics took time to educate me and make the appropriate recommendations for future service that may be needed. I am so blessed to know the folks at Alignment Professionals and highly recommend them.

Julie M.

I drive out of my way from Halls and could easily go locally, but the service and loyalty not to mention the friendliness is outstanding.

Richard C.

Absolutely excellent service.  Alignment took less than an hour, the mechanic explained exactly what was done, and the people in the office were incredibly nice.  I will be back and would recommend to anyone!

Rebecca G.

Second Chevy truck they lowered for me, and it's perfect once again.

Thank you Alignment Professionals!

The Customer Is Always Right!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ???

New AP Logo.jpg
Ask the Pros

Q: I have my own parts.  How much would you charge to install them?

A:  Because your satisfaction is our primary goal we DO NOT install customer parts for a myriad of reasons:

(1) Due to liability issues, our insurance company restricts us from installing customer parts because we are liable in the event of parts failure.

(2) As suspension specialists, we are familiar with the spectrum of suspension replacement parts and the recommended vehicle application, enabling us to suggest the most cost and performance effective parts.  In many cases aftermarket parts are constructed with better materials and features than the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts.  While purchasing parts directly or on-line appears to be a cost saver, our experience has proven that in reality, customers are much happier when we install and stand behind the products we sell and the service we provide. In reality, when a defect or problem occurs, our customers are quick to confirm that the value of a no hassle warranty, with no additional expense or aggravation is priceless!

We take your needs personally and strive to work within your budget by prioritizing the urgency of the necessary repairs and performing work in steps.

*RARE exceptions will be made only in cases of rare parts that are  not readily available aftermarket & labor rates may vary accordingly.

Q: How often should you have your vehicle's alignment checked?

A: A vehicle's alignment should be checked approximately twice a year or an average of every 15,000 - 20,000 miles providing the vehicle is not showing symptoms of alignment problems such as tire wear, pulling or an off-centered steering wheel.

Q: What are some symptoms of an alignment problem?

A: Tire wear is the most obvious symptom of an alignment problem, although inside tire wear can be very difficult to detect, which is why it is important to have your tires rotated every 3,000-5,000 miles so any problems may be detected in time. Some vehicles will also begin to pull left or right when the alignment needs to be adjusted. Finally, if you have hit a pot hole, speed bump or other road hazard and you notice a change in the steering wheel being centered or the driving conditions of the vehicle, you should have your alignment checked immediately.

Q: What does having my car aligned include?

A: A thorough alignment will include inspection of all applicable suspension parts including all tie rod ends, ball joints, CV axles, idler arm, control arms, bushings, shocks, struts, rack n' pinion/steering gear box, motor mounts, etc. This process will indicate any worn parts that may contribute to tire wear, cause safety hazards, prevent pulling and ensure the vehicle can be properly aligned in order to facilitate safe handling and optimum performance.

Q: I have a vibration at high speeds, does this mean I need an alignment?

A: In general a vibration that presents itself in the acceleration mode indicates a tire balance problem. In some cases a vibration could also be caused by worn tires, which would then indicate an alignment issue. It is a good idea to have tires balanced and rotated every 3,000-5,000 miles to ensure even tire wear. In addition the alignment should be checked at least once per year or approximately every 15,000-20,000 miles to ensure proper tire wear and safe handling.

Q: How long does it take to have an alignment done?

A: We work primarily by appointment M-F 8-4 pm. or you can also drop a vehicle off and we can work it in between the scheduled appointments and call you when it is ready. If you have an appointment scheduled, a standard alignment takes approximately an one hour to complete, which is the quickest way to get service.  If vehicle needs extensive inspection to identify a particular symptom more time may be required to provide customer accurate diagnosis and estimate.  Repairs may require additional time and will be rescheduled at customer's convenience.

Q: Is there any warranty on your work?

A: Yes, alignments are warrantied for 6 months. Brake and suspension service includes 1 yr. warranty. Parts carry manufacturer's warranty (one year to limited lifetime warranty). Specific information furnished upon request and documented on sales receipt.

Q: Do you charge to check a vehicle if it doesn't need to be aligned?

A: Yes, we charge an inspection fee if a vehicle does not need an alignment or if it needs more extensive work than just an alignment (i.e., parts replacement). In the case of additional work, we will provide a complete diagnosis and written estimate and will credit the $45 inspection fee costs toward the estimate amount in the event that you have us perform the estimated service within 30 days.

The reason we charge an inspection fee is so that we can continue to employ top-notch techs with the highest industry qualifications and offer an acceptable hourly wage so they can feed their families and provide the best customer service possible. The inspection fee is applicable when your vehicle's alignment checks good.  WE WILL NOT  charge you for an alignment when your vehicle does not need it nor will we fabricate repairs, which ultimately saves you money and provides peace of mind knowing you are receiving an honest and accurate diagnosis.

Q: Will you provide my old parts to ensure proof that the work estimated is being completed?

A: Yes, we will be glad to make your old parts available to you upon completion of the job, per your request. We will also be glad to show you the worn or damaged parts BEFORE we replace them during our diagnosis and estimate process, if you would like to see them for yourself.
